God is our help, not “a burden”

  I saw no evidence of argumentation; if there were, that would suggest both of your views were equally valid which they are not. What I saw was cofty schooling you on your ignorance of evolution via natural selection.

  Venus, in post after post you continue to present your worldview as if it were gospel or that you alone have discovered the way. You never seem to be deterred from your course even in the face of disinterest. What's your point?

  You know, as a JW the obligation that was imposed upon me by a heartless demanding religion to "save" people from themselves was such a burden.

  I also see now it was totally unnecessary because at the end of the day people are gonna believe what they believe for all sorts of reasons in all sorts of circumstances regardless of what I think they should believe. I wasn't helping anybody not even myself I was just wasting time.

  Hi,

  Men add the burden....God said this Love him & love your neighbor....he gave us 600 rules, brought it down to 10 commandments, & we couldn't do it so he downsized it to 2...maybe you humans can do these two...

  Man wants to add a bunch of rules to man, why ? Because they have something that they do so they add burdens to make them feel they have repented...Man wants you to say the Lord's prayer backwards on 1 leg...God just wants us to balance our lives...just treat each other good...

  Why do we read to much into the bible or God...God even tells us what it takes...he don't want no more sacrifices. Hosea 6:6:For in loyal love* I delight, not in sacrifice,And in the knowledge of God, rather than in whole burnt offerings. PS.51:16:For you do not want a sacrifice—otherwise I would give it;+You do not find delight in a whole burnt offering. Heb. 13:15-16:Through him let us always offer to God a sacrifice of praise,+ that is, the fruit of our lips+ that make public declaration to his name.+ 16 Moreover, do not forget to do good and to share what you have with others,+ for God is well-pleased with such sacrifices.

  Many people have no idea what God wants...they had burdens to look more pious....

  I can find other scriptures of what God really wants...Just believe he sent his son for us...& that Jesus is his son & he died for mankind...and so no need to follow the law .....

  That's my thought anyways...

  I'm all for debate but I sense that venus has a mission and is impervious to debate. Perhaps leaving her be is the best response - unless posters are into flogging dead horses?

  I have no mission. I will prove this by my future action. Henceforth, I would refrain from making Ops, and would restrict myself to posting comments under others’ OPs in conformity with COFTY’s suggestion to stick to "debate.”
