Ok....... the Beatles were British......I'll give you that one.
Did I ever tell you when I saw the Beatles for the first time?
I was pioneering where the need was great, back in the early 1960's, I was visiting an older brother who had medical issues and who was in the local hospital.
When I left............... I noticed a crowd of people in the waiting room gathered around the B&W TV. What's going on I asked. 'It's the Beatles they are on the Ed Sullivan show.'
So knowing a little about the Beatles I watched them perform 'I want to hold your hand'.
Totally unimpressed I exited the hospital and when I got into my car I turned to my faithful companion...my ego... and said....'The Beatles will never amount to anything.'

America missed out on this group from the UK in the 70s. I loved Smokie!!! I heard them when I lived in Saudi Arabia when I was a kid and used to have some of their tapes.
