At mine the conductor was somewhat awkward and minimal and there were nervous chuckles from the audience. Two people, including an elder, gave reasonable comments that it's okay as long as it's not extreme styles, etc. But then another one of the elders commented that nothing has changed and they still aren't proper locally.

    How about you?

I recorded the comments, i'll have to see if i can figure out how to upload them. Nothing too negative said about them at my hall, but at another hall locally the conductor said its clear they aren't accepted around here because if they were then brothers would be wearing them. I don't think it'll change much around here after the article. Witlesses need the clear o.k. to grow them and nothing is ever clear in the W.T.

The no beards policy came in as a protocol for dress and appearance for how JWS men should look like when they are giving talks and going out in service.

One should keep in mind that image is seriously important to the WTS public sales representatives, out in the streets as well inside Kingdom Halls during meetings.

The WTS is very much an institute of selling the WTS version of Christianity.

Clean righteousness in the protocol, as pretentious as it may be.

    Beautiful example of circular reasoning!

    This is circular,

Brothers can have beards if non-jws are not stumbled...but if non-jws were asked, they would say they don't give a crap if jw men have beards. My goodness Al Roker has a beard today.

You can't do anything because you might make someone think it's acceptable. Even if it really is. So, we have to make rules against doing it. To heaven if it makes someone think it's not acceptable to do something when it really is, which itself is a lie. And the result will be everyone being just like the greys, where everyone is the same and working on enslaving the whole universe under joke-hova. No diversity of any kind, all in the name of preventing anyone from being stumbled.

Note that, in the world, diversity is supposed to be protected by banning things that might offend anyone. This also serves to ruin individuals, and destroys diversity while helping joke-hova to enslave the whole universe.

Simple response: If there are many people outside of the Witnesses who have beards then there is no reason for the public in general to get "stumbled" - they're used to them..

and no mention about the fact that you can't go on the stage with a beard in any assembly. This fact is either unknown by most JWs in the attendance eitjer totally forgotten!
