I have been very good friends for years with a very progressive woman even though she knows i have always leaned libertarian and even was part of the Republican cult until recently. By the way, she is a wonderful community leader, who works harder than anyone else in anything related to making the community better for Republicans and Democrat families. She volunteers full time raising funds an creating new programs to improve education, helping the poor and victims of domestic violence. She walks the walk. I hope one day you do the same.

So I clicked on the article by the former Republican strategist, conscious stricken by the state of his party... and this is the first paragraph:

Did you catch that last part? He is a useful idiot for Russia? Do you understand how that completely and utterly undermines his (the author, not Trump) credibility? You have any clue what that one statement means?
Is this a Republican moderate? Lee Elder, do you think Putin is pulling the strings of this President?

#1 - How are you applying this to Trump supporters? What is meant by “all-encompassing”? See #3.They 1) espouse an all-encompassing belief system; 2) exhibit excessive devotion to the leader; 3) avoid criticism of the group and its leader; and 4) feel disdain for non-members.
#2 - The devotion (actually a bad word for it. “Loyalty” is more accurate) comes from the fact that he moving in the right direction. It’s about the actions, not him. It’s the policies, not him.
#3 - This definitely doesn’t apply. Take a listen to Moleneux when he bombed Syria. Take a listen to Levin (or just about every other right leaning YouTube channel or radio show) when he signed the last spending bill. If you think there is blind devotion, you are living under a rock. But that is the difference these days between the left and right: the right is willing to be critical when it compromises princliples, the left will do whatever it need to do to advance its ends, even twist itself into philosophical knots.... or call people cultists or useful idiots for Russia.
#4 - Nope. I have a lot of family and friends and workmates that do not agree. But if they put on a pussy hat, yeah, they deserve the ridicule.

I think the left must have sent a memo round, it all happens at the same time.
It's like watching a magician - always watch for the buried news when the left are screaming about something, that's the thing they really don't want you to notice.
Ironic that they accuse the right of cult-like worship of Trump. I don't know anyone worships him - most of the conservative commentators I follow are often very critical of him when they don't think he's doing the right things, there's certainly no blind following from them. Liking some of the policy changes isn't worship 'cause otherwise that means every politician is worshipped.
It's not like people have posters of him on their wall ...

That is what l feel too, BOC. US politics can’t recover because of the money involved ( big corporations allowed to contribute and lobby). That insures that candidates will conduct themselves with their owners interest in mind. Running a campaign costs.
That alone has been enough to make BS of democracy.

I don’t know if Hillary Clinton supporters are called cult but they do lack common sense and moral sense to support a woman who lies compulsively and has supported crimes of her husband who has been assaulting women and obstructing justice so far without conviction.
