#8 - Rules of an argument state that the party who states something "is" has the burden of proof. The party that states something "is not" has no burden.
If I state I believe there is a god, I have the burden to prove it. If I state I don't believe in god I have no burden of proof.

"You are confusing me" and God is not a god of confusion.
"Guard against independent thinking"
"We don't believe that; we believe in the bible"
"It doesn't say that in the greek"
"Why don't you write to the Society?"
"Why don't you ask the elders?"
"Beware of a critical spirit".
"Why don't you research that in the publications".
"That doesn't have the ring of truth"
"I'm going to just continue in the things learned"
That doesn't fit the pattern of healthful words"
"Why don't you pray about it."
"At least we admit when we are wrong, other religions don't"
These are actually not "excuses"; they are thought-terminating cliches designed to immediately stop logical thinking.
Face it - We were all brainwashed folks.
