For those of us who are Hillary and Bernie fans, which is the better outcome - To have Donald Trump as the Republican's nomination whose unpopular with most Americans? Or are we better off watching the chaos of a contested convention and the party eventually putting up someone weak like John Kasic or Jeb Bush?

What makes you say Trump is "unpopular with most Americans"?

It doesn't matter what happens amongst the GOP. They lose if Trump is the nominee and they lose if they manage to block Trump.

    Say goodbye to the GOP.

I find politics interesting as I think anything can happen. The GOP problem is as far as I can tell the republican voters that care to vote in primaries have stated that the majority prefer Trump. If their own party says screw you republican voters we will put in who we want, they would in my belief hand the presidency to Clinton. On the flip side Trump is controversial and has created skeptics on what type of president he could actually be. The GOP only hope in my opinion is for trump to get the nomination and turn into a very presidential candidate. Otherwise, it's Clinton's to lose.

"most" is probably less accurate than "majority"

This convention is going to be fun. News making, for once. For journalists it won't be just the same old grind again, they're actually looking forward to it.

As as I said before, barring a muslim extremist domestic terrorist attack, Democrats win. So this 'who is going to the the Republican candidate??' thing probably doesn't matter that much. Trump fans will be livid if the Republican party ignores them tho...it will make them do crazy things.

    .

The dumbest move for Kasic and Cruz to make, was their latest plan to take down Trump..

Where did those 2 idiots learn strategy?..

There`s a damn good chance,Trump will benefit from it big time..

I don`t think there will be a republican President, but from my point of view it would be entertaining..

I`d love to watch Trump build a Border Wall over Mexican Tunnels into the USA..

This website is infamous for its correct predictions of the political world. They say that at this point it is certain that the Republican Party will have a contested convention. Trump would have to win the remaining states by a larger margin than he's been winning so far. This would be critical with "winner takes all" states.

As for those who support Democrats it would be wiser to have Trump as the Republican presidential candidate because he would be certain to lose against Hillary. With Ted Cruz, a run against Hillary might be closer and perhaps he might win if she gets more bad publicity.

With Kasich, Hillary would get a run for her money since he is perceived to be more "moderate".

If Hilary gets indicted, the Democratic Party could implode as well.

No chance DOC. If Hillary wins the nomination and then gets indicted..... The Democratic party, depending on the legality issues, could nominate Joe Biden or John Kerry. They both are familiar faces, they need no introduction and have a lot of international experience. MHO
