No not the same way at all. The bible was written by ignorant nomads and goat herders in a pre-scientific world. Every page exposes that it has no superhuman origin. Apart from the errors and contradictions it promotes the same standard of ethics as ISIS.
On the other hand the age of earth has been calculated by comparing the evidence from multiple independent fields of science.
We will never agree on this, Cofty, so I'll leave it alone.

If you equate feelings and superstitions with facts then you are right we will never agree.
What if the Universe is 28, 336 years young?
What if each "day" of Creation was 3,760 years?
Then your version of young earth creationism would be as wrong as every other version, provably so.
