Oh yeah........I have good memories TOO. That's part of life, being able to pick out good things to remember along with the bad.
We were out in service in a really rural area in SC. It had rained, and the sis' vehicle got stuck in the sandy mud. There were 4 others of us - all sisters. We got out ankle deep in sand/mud and pushed.....and pushed.....and pushed.
FINALLY! The vehicle waddled forward.........spraying us all over with same sandy/mud. We just looked at each other and started laughing hysterically. The sis got out of the car and we threatened to sandball her so that she'd look like us.
Sandy mud, btw., dries off for the most part - and the most part can be brushed off, which we did. We then retired to McDonald's.
I remember the picnics (as a young adult thank you very much) I LOVED the picnics! We got to know such a broad range of people, lots of good food, games & people.
We played a card game (Euchre sp? - sounds like U-ker) in Indiana. Had whole get togethers of the game and food. Much laughing and fun - as long as we didn't take it too seriously.
Anybody remember the infamous Spoons game?????? Elders shut that one down........but it was great fun while it lasted!
