The Org has always had homes that are off-site. Even in the "old" site in update NY.

They were for non-resident guests that sometimes needed a place to stay for the night. I've stayed in them a few times. To be fair, the ones that i stayed in, didn't seem to be anything special. Just a clean place to crash for the night. You had to reserve them in advance, and you had to have a good reason to request them. Also you normally would share it with other folks.

Does anyone have any evidence that the GB travel in business class when Flying ?

I had been arguing about this with my JW wife for a very long time and she vehemently denies it.

I had never flown other than in an Economy class, all my life and cannot afford more than that.

John Davis seems to have very intimate knowledge of the activites of the GB and the legal department, current cases, internal protocols and procedures relating to everyday life at bethel, realestate, investments, and assorted goings on at bethel in fact one would think he lives there he knows so much a real expert, maybe he knows.

I doubt there is any evidence, although I believe it, because the level of perks you get at Beth-Hell is correlated to your status, many times also to how long you been there.

So things like the quality of room, driving a Beth-hell car, assignments, seating arrangements, it's all dependent on status. So why woudn't this include the level of airline tickets? No doubt it does.

But to be fair, of all the things to point about the Org, this doesn't seem to carry a lot of weight. It's expected that seniority will get you a few perks that newbies don't get, in just about anything in life.

According to the video in the link that Millie posted we're talking nice homes in a gated community here.

Seriously, why criticise GBs use of Business Class? Anyone who has to fly long distances on a regular basis as part of their work will appreciate the need to avoid Economy Class where leg room is very limited and sleep is difficult.

redvip2000 and Steve2, Thanks for the feedback. My wife donates to the WT on a monthly basis and I am the only breadwinner at home. We have a frugal lifestyle and I am trying to prove to my wife that our hard earned money goes for the GB's Luxurious Quarters, Chauffer Driven cars, 5 star Hotels, Child abused cases and Business class flying.

A friend of mine who was in Bethel for a number of years, had told me that generally the GB and others "near the top" have historically flown first/business class.

Technically, they buy them a full-fare, unrestricted economy ticket (technically the most expensive "economy" ticket). Then, due to the Society's massive travel system, they will almost always get upgraded.

It is just the way the travel industry works. Book enough hotel rooms, airline tickets, etc. and you will get the perks without question.

I agree Steve but the irony of it is that most JW's because of their limited education and the admonition to put making a living second to all things JW, are unable to enjoy such comforts or have jobs where such comforts are offered. The GB are living and traveling on the donations that JW's with meager lifestyles are donating. They do without such thing in their own lives so that these servants of God can live like executives.

The flyer is the one that keeps the frequent flyer miles even in bethel. So if you work in Legal or writting and you fly for branch business even though they pay for the ticket your the one that is keeping the flyer. So people just use their points or miles in order to upgrade when they want too. The branch or World Travel Desk will only pay for the economy class and will find the cheapest flight for all betheliets including GB members.

But not all travel is branch business. Assembly speakers is not paid for by the branch it is paid for by the circuit. Memorial speakers again not a branch trip but is paid for by the host congregation. Kingdom hall dedications again local congregation. So if a local congregation or someone who can afford to fly out a bethelite first class that is their decision to do it.
