  From King Saul to Uzzah, the Bible is full of examples of people who thought they could break one of God's commands based on what they had surmised or speculated another one might mean.

  This is the position Jehovah's Witnesses find themselves in vis-à-vis blood.

  Transfusion does not fall under the umbrella of any Biblical command and the JW claim that it does is speculative at its core.

  Like King Saul and Uzzah, they have set aside plain and simple, black and white, clear and unambiguous commands based on what they have speculated that God might want. (But never actually said)

  In the case of the JW's these are God's commands regarding the sanctity of life and the severe penalty associated with intentionally or unintentionally depriving another human being of it.

  Commands of men as DOCTRINES are my thought on this.

  WHOLE BLOOD TRANSFUSION................ reject

  BLOOD FRACTION TRANSFUSION............... accept.

  As a mathematics students, find the LOWEST common denominator between REJECT and ACCEPT?

  Your answer is as good as mine.........The organization love playing with the HEADS of their members.

  Its just like "the do not be yoked with unbelievers". ...........as it concerns MARRIAGE in the ORG. But a born in who had completed the study program and failed to get baptized is not seen as an UNBELIEVER by the ORG. The question is can one then YOKE ONESELF with such PERSON? The ORGANIZATION response is NO because the person is not YET to be BAPTIZED.

  It makes the whole thing LAUGHABLE, the scriptures only said do not be YOKED with UNBELIEVERS not the ONE YET TO BE BAPTIZED.

  Another interesting thing about this is the BAPTISM endorsed by Jehovah's ORGANIZATION not just any BAPTISM.

  I think it was AlanF who came up with this conundrum to pose to JWs who insist that "transfusing blood" is exactly equal to "eating blood":

  If a man was brought into a hospital dying of starvation, would a blood transfusion resolve the issue?

  I understand they (we) have a convoluted understanding of the Blood doctrine.

  But when it comes to Sunning, that is a very important component for the bodily absorption of Vitamin D.

  However, for those with a pale complexion, a suntan lotion with a high SPF number works well, especially for our brothers and sisters in Scandinavia.

  I didn't realize it was a typo or else I wouldn't have commented.

  Yes Rub, "Sunning" was a Typo, and Threads never go the way you think they will, I really wanted to major on the Shunning thing, more than the Blood teaching.

  I think we need to shout far and wide about how Evil Shunning is, and, most importantly I think this now has become the Org's Achilles Heel.

  Shunning takes away the Human Rights of those Shunned, of the JW family of the one being Shunned, and of their JW "friends". But more, it takes away the Human Rights of those who have faded from the Org. Takes away those Rights from Ex JW's !

  How dare the Org impose this Evil upon non members !

  It is indefensible from Scripture, as discussed, but Human Rights should ALWAYS trump Religious Practice, we rightly condemn Female Genital Mutilation, because the Human Rights of the child involved trump the filthy religious practice.

  Let us speak about Shunning until it is done away with by the Org. Think how power will be removed from them ! Yes, if you mess up, you can still be DF'd for Religious reasons, but the fear of Shunning is what stops a Host of J.W's from fading away, especially the young.
