Who did you believe the scriptures were describing when you were a JW?

  It never hit me until I was out. Matt:23;4 "they tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them

  on other people shoulders". 1 Corinthians 4:6 "Do not go beyond what is written", clap or don't clap.

  And the false prophets, who today is known for their end of days preaching.

  What do JW's think when the read those scriptures, who do they think the scriptures are talking about?

  Who did you think the scriptures were talking about when you were a JW and why.

  I don't recall talks on these subjects. I now know why, it would be self-incriminating.

  Christendom's clergy.

  Any "bad example" of religious leaders in the Bible was tied into "Christendom's clergy".

  I remember many awkward moments during studying the Greatest Man book when the lesson on the Tuesday condemned the Pharisees for exactly the sort of nitpicking we'd been subjected to in the Watchtower study the Sunday before.

  By their comments the irony was not lost on some of the other JWs there.

  That scripture hit the org to a tee when even when I was a study. I couldn't believe how demanding it was and too bad I didn't trust myself and run.

  It's strange, Christendom's clergy put no cumbersome loads on it's members, maybe

  give more money. All they request, be there on Sunday and put in the collection plate.

  What do you think would happen if the minister sermon was on "Christian conduct in the

  bed room", He would be preaching to a lot of empty pews come the following Sunday.When

  you think about it we received different sources. Where does their message come from,

  from their own creativity that's why we had new light every few years.

  Christendoms' Churches place nowhere near the guilt and money-guilting on it's members as does the Borg.

  Beth Sarim: I agree with you, it's so obvious today. What's done in the dark will come to light.

  I remember Billy Graham being touted as Satan's tool. This was listening to adult gossip as a child, but they said "when he came here in 196-, they used KFC buckets for collections".

  False prophets - I remember a talk about cults, and the Moonies & their Reverend Sun Myung Moon ... also Children of God. So, that was 60s, 70s. Oh, and the Mormons - Joseph Smith and his addition to the bible, was a false prophet as well.

  I also thought the one they used for shunning, something like if you love your family more than you love me, you are not worthy of me.

  For me it seems to apply more for becoming a christian and leaving the borg than ignoring your own children.

  They like to talk about the opposition they face when becoming one of jehovah witness but the real price to be paid is when you leave. The same can be said for a Muslim becoming a christian.
