I totally understand all your points but the fact that humans can't create life does leave us to the possibility that life was created by a higher intelligence .

shadow you might want to check out work exploring hydrothermal alkaline vents on the Pacific Ocean floor for the origin of life on earth

That's a good summary of Lane & Martin's ideas. Unfortunately the editor has used a picture of an acidic Black Smoker vent rather than an Alkaline vent. The two environments could not be more different.

here is a another pic from wiki - we find these chimney shapes everywhere in our bodies - the oesophagus for example -isnt that remarkable - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_City_Hydrothermal_Field

yes probably cofty - the size may have been a freudian slip - it still make me laugh - everything on earth seems to have some sort of tubule in its structure

The Lost City vent is 60m high and at least 120,000 years old...

    wow - stunning pictures

here is something re the people exploring the site

    http://www.lostcity.washington.edu/story/Marv+D+Lilley

Their work showed that the Lost Cityfluids contain higher concentrations of formate and acetate than any other non-sedimented hydrothermal system studied to date [Lang et al., 2010], unequivocal evidence for the abiogenic production of low molecular weight hydrocarbons [Proskurowski et al., 2008], and elevated concentrations of hydrogen [Proskurowski et al., 2006]. Their work has important implications for the energy in the deep biosphere at Lost City and life that thrives within serpentinite-hosted hydrothermal systems.
