After our merger our k.h. was over packed with about 135 in attendance 3 months later it leveled off to around 110. So apparently about 25 said "screw this!" And left

The obvious decrease in jw's, kh's, and the overall sense of urgency among those still attending is the "handwriting on the wall" IMHO!
just saying!

I think it's not worth of a new thread
Kingdom Hall In Yonkers (365 Palmer Rd), NY has been sold this January. The buyer is PowerHouse Faith & Deliverance Ministries, a local independent (Pentecostal?) church (correct me if I'm wrong). "[We are] feeling blessed", - wrote the church about this deal; what about JW's?
According to Westchester County Business Journal (p. 25), the selling price was $1,000,000. Interestingly, immediately before the sale the property was transferred (check here) from a local congregation to JW Congregation Support, an entity established "to care for the construction, renovation, and maintenance of theocratic facilities".
Seven years earlier, another KH was sold to a religious group (Mar Thoma Syrian Church) in the same (Westchester) county; the selling price was $525,000.

Thanks Corny for the links. What is good for the goose is good for the gander! If WT cult leaders can sell & profit from sale of real estate to other religious institutions...then there should be no problem if a rank and file JW does work for said organizations as well.

BETH SARIM:
I’m sure some Witnesses ARE grumbling about having to travel further and who knows if this may be the last straw for some.
I would NEVER have traveled to a far away hall when I had trouble making meetings at a hall that was only ten minutes away! I would have been gone from the religion sooner! 😊
I’m sure this distance factor will cause elderly JWs to miss meetings - especially in the winter..Nobody in their right mind should be driving at night in icy conditions! But, certain ‘needy’ Witnesses wanting assistance from elders and handouts are going to HAVE to make the trip and chase after the religion (no matter how far) and show their faces - or they are not going to get that envelope of money!..Remember: Out of sight is out of mind.
If they sell off too many halls and the nearest hall is ridiculously far these ‘needy’ JWs are going to have a problem...If the REAL goal of the religion now is to have almost no halls except for assembly halls - it would appear that certain ‘faithful’ JWs will have been abandoned!

Yup, credit where credit's due...
...the bOrg is "managing the decline" quite well.
