My scientific doctor said the operation caused more grief than it was worth

It probably did. Science discovered a more effective, less invasive way of treating ulcers.

You could not have chosen a worse example.

Do you actually have a point and a solid example to back it up?

On the contrary attacking anything that we currently believe to be true - and doing so with evidence - will get you nominated for a Nobel Prize.

For some. But for many, they were treated like fools, heaven forbid even shunned by their community and never got the recognition until they died.

Cofty...I have nothing against science at all, nothing. It'll always forever be work in progress and that's what makes it fun.

Do you have a specific recent example of that or are you just repeating stuff you heard at the Kingdom Hall?

Yes you do. You dismiss it as a matter of opinion. It saves countless lives every year and improves the lives of millions more. You don't seem to have a clue about how the scientific process works.

Cofty, I've got work tomorrow, so I'm off to bed. But if I can I'll see what I can come up with tomorrow. But hey, look in to yourself. You seem to think scientists are higher beings not subject to the normal failings like us ordinary people, well me, not you of course.

Nothing could be further from the facts. Perhaps you could google "straw man" and not try to tell me what I think.
