LOL Huxley! Don't the Hare Krishnas and Moonies do a similar thing, rewarding people with sugary treats after listening to hours of indoctrination?

    Twinkie Christian

Am I the only one who would have stayed a dub if they handed out twinkies at each meeting?

Here's a pic of Jehovah pouring out his twinkie blessings in the new world...

This was the same problem that jesus faced . The people would only follow because of the prospect of food but would not follow the teachings . Eventually jesus had to lose the crowd . Making gifts of mercy is part of jesus instructions so I can't say it's unscriptual . I think the main difference between how the WTBTS does this and mainstream christianity is that eventually the other religions want some political power .

    Heathen:

I'm not sure that the missionaries that are sent into the countries wanted "political power." I think most were altruistic and had the people's interest at heart. However, as seen in Michner's Hawaii, the missionaries always softened up the population to be followed up by the commercial and political interests that exploited the native population for their own ends. Many times, the second generation of the missionaries became these very men who took advantage of the situation.

Many of the missionaries were willing to sacrifice their health and lives to "spread the gospel." Many established health clinics and soup kitchens to help the poor and starving people in the country. But those who followed could care less. In many cases, they enslaved the population for their own greedy purposes.

Kentucky Fried Christians? Hahaha! I'd read the Watchtower for a side of mashed potatoes and gravy. (And please don't tell me what that stuff is really made of...)
