This is a pic of a large oil painting that hangs on our front room chimneybreast. It's my pride and joy. The boy in the painting is me, aged 11. The lady was my grandmother. The car, a Morris Minor 1000 reg. no., TLP 582 belonged to my parents. The green steam engine is the Duchess of Montrose double-heading the 1:45 Barrow to London express. The location is Arnside, Cumbria, where I spent many happy childhood holidays with my grandparents.

    Do you like it?

Just found this up to date photo. The estuary is the mouth of the River Kent (it's nowhere near the county of Kent) and probably the most salmon prolific river in England.

That's a great picture E-man. Knowing the history behind it and its meaningfulness to you makes it even more beautiful.
