As I mentioned above, I do believe we pay Johnny Depp great amounts of money to watch him on the movie screen.
As also pointed out by our fellow posters, he has his right to his opinion. True.
But, he is also just like every one of us, just another person. Why should people get all excited about what he has to say? Who is he compared to any one of us? Just an actor. So, why should I listen to him any more than anyone else, such as here on the board?
Just because he is an actor, doesn't make his opinion any better (or worse for that matter) than anyone else on this board or elsewhere.
So Depp doesn't care for America. Well, big woopi- f'n deal.

I like Johnny Depp, b/c he does speak his mind, and is not scared to do so.
Those are his opinions, and mine, too. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out that America has a serious problem with its GOVERNMENT.... not its people. I really hope that the people get it togetther and vote that redneck geek out!
Good for Johnny Depp for speaking his mind. That's a lot more than what many other actors are doing.... they are just hiding.

It seems to me that Americans are super-patriotic. No dissent is allowed. Shut up celebrities if you don't agree. If people don't agree with President Bush, they're stupid or worse, anti-American.
I read that there isn't even a concept for that in Italy. If you disagree with the government policies, no one would accuse you of being anti-Italian--it would be ridiculous. But in America, the public often punishes dissenters, such as the Dixie Chicks.
What do we have--a king that no one can question?? No, we have a democracy--but i think so many just don't understand the concept. Yeru and Francois are rabid in attacking liberals. It's just too darn bad that there is such intolerance on this board by some and in America in general.
