BTW, I was reminded a few minutes ago....about an opportunity that arose back in 1970 for me to use that "You can pick yer friends and you can pick yer nose, butcha cain't pick yer friend's nose..." colloquialism....
I was workin' for the Pr. Geo. Co. P.D.....as I was standing in the doorway to my Sgt.'s office, leaning against the door jamb, with my back to the hallway......we were having a conversation and....as I was talking to the Sgt....I noticed his eyes flicker to something over my shoulder....as I turned to see who was behind me, the station commander, Lt. (shortie, about 5' 2") was reaching up to tap me on the shoulder.....you got it! Lt. "shortie's" finger went up my left nostril....I started laffin' so hard that tears almost ran down my legs....and it was very difficult, but I managed to choke out that colloquialism...." I thought the Sgt. was gonna pee HIS pants, he laffed so hard....the Lt. was embarrassed, but he *did* admit it was very funny.....aaahhhhh the memories.....
