    Yeru-

God save me from the liberals that would destroy us.

I am liberal and yet support our troops, so why say shit like this?

I may be wrong but the credit at the end said it was prepared by the employees of a corporation

Someone cynical could suggest that it was a form of "viral marketting" by a company to get their name in front of as many people as possible and advertise their work.

    Quite a clever idea really.

What they should have done is made it downloadable for a small fee. People could still rave about it. Those who wanted to genuinely give some support could contribute and the company could donate the money to the servicemens charity.

I remember seeing something like this for Sep 11 which was very well done and moving (sorry, don't have the link to hand)

    Uzzah-

Keep something in mind when you start threads with these words in the title:

    Black, U.S., Gay, Farkel ()

That being "The road to hell is paved with good intentions"

    someone eh?

I've seen a few of those on Sept 11. A couple of them were very good. And I've seen more than one of these tributes to the troops done too.

Ah well, I liked it. You don't have to if you don't want to..

I didn't say I didn't like it. I was merely commenting on the reasons for it and the claims that watching it somehow shows support for the troops.

    Simon,

Watching a slideshow is not showing support to our troops....but watching it and then commenting on it to others who feel similar, or who have family in the military.....IS a means of support. As you well know running this board, people sharing their thoughts and feelings with each other is a WAY of showing and RECEIVING support. It can actually be a VERY important source of support to some. That doesn't mean we don't SHOW support in other ways....but Uzzah did not start this thread to ask for support for the troops. The title is simply "Tribute to the Troops". And that's what it is. Plain and simple.

Thank you Xenawarrior. And don't worry, NO ONE could ever make me ashamed of my son. If you knew him, you'd understand why.

You who have never lived in a different country would not understand how it looks to those of us who are looking in.

Ok, so enlighten me (and I'm not being sarcastic), how do we look to those of you "looking in"?

Let's see so far I've had two replies.

Both completely off-topic and ignoring the request of the person originating the thread.

    Both made by moderators.

Didn't you know that being Anti-Bush and Anti-USA in Iraq is one the prerequisites for nomination to "Forum Assistant"

While I'm making no ascertation that anyone on the board is trying to destroy the US, it is my opinion that the Liberal agenda will destroy the US. Many liberals are unpatriotic...like the ones that spit on soldiers coming home from Vietnam...the ones that gave information on US soldiers to Vietmanese operatives...Jane Fonda...what she did in Vietnam was NOT free speech...it was treason. Treason...a word that means almost nothing now days because patriotism is held in such contempt. My loyalty isn't to an administration..though I like this administration...my loyalty is to my country. I served longer under Clinton than I have Bush...and I was loyal then. I supported our actions in Somalia...and participated in Bosnia and Kosovo...I supported Clinton's attack on what turned out to be an aspirin factory in Sudan....I just didn't like Clinton...or most of his policies...but I was loyal...to my country.

It's easy to see from the responses on the board that Patriotism is seen as a bad thing.
