    Hey Else !!!

You've been on this for several weeks and still at 20 carbs a day? You are only supposed to do the 20 carbs for a short period of time and then increase it bit by bit. I can't really talk though- when I was on it a few years ago I stayed on the 20 carbs for a long time.

Have your pizza !!!!!!!!! It's better to do that than to be walking around with a craving that you end up feeding too much to. When I did it I would have a baked potato with my dinner if we'd go out now and then. If you've been on it for several weeks you've pretty much broken your body's addiction to it so you don't have to worry about causing severe cravings with a bit of pizza so ENJOY !!!

I remember what I did with pizza. I'd have pizza and I'd eat the toppings off of it with a fork and leave the crust- people thought I was nuts. But it worked. When I was on it several years ago I lost 52 pounds. I gained some weight over the summer so I'm back on it again now.

    Enjoy your pizza !!

    XW

*** Leaning back in my chair rubbing my belly with a big stupid grin ***

    Ahhh yeah! Da't was good!

Valis, that pic looks a lot like what I had... plus a a key lime pie.

XW, yeah, I likely toasted my ketosis for a day or two... but it sure was worth it. I also decided to extend the induction phase a bit to loose a bit more.

Being a fellow dieter, I know the satisfaction you must feel after the beer and pizza and key lime pie!!

I hope you don't mind my sharing my experience and resultant theory (of a study of one!). If you do, discontinue reading NOW.

Last year i stayed on Atkins for 4 days. I only wanted to drop a few pounds before vacation. By the end of this time, I was ravenous and full of cravings. I was never satisfied.

Here's my theory: pH balance of the blood is what creates cravings in order to get it balanced. That's why carrots won't satisfy because the blood is so acidic from protein, sugar, or whatever. It's trying to get back to a more alkaline state.

When you eat mostly healthy carbs (vegetables, whole grains, nuts, peanut butter, fruits), the blood stays more alkaline in its pH balance; hence, no cravings and lots of satiety. Then you don't feel you HAVE to keep eating.

    Cheers!

Else, When I go on diets, I found that allowing myself cheat days, seemed to make me start losing again when it seemed I was at a stand still.

    Eat pizza and be happy.

One of the girls that was over, pill freak, stole Bob's medicine! 50 pills! Emptied the bottle then put it back in the medicine cabinet! Is that crazy or what?
