I hear that Jared, from the SUBWAY sandwich shop commericals, will soon be going on the "host diet" - he plans to become WAFER thin!

Why exactly is it we've decided to ridicule the single most sacred aspect of Catholic and Orthodox worship?

Because as XJWs,we know that nothing is sacred.

Nobody is attacking YOU, Yeru, or even the Catholic Church.

But once a funny idea pops up - like this one, or a well-timed fart joke, everybody who doesn't have a Watchtower poker up their arse laughs. Then we forget about it and move on.

    Yeru,

Good question, and I'm with you - there is no need to ridicule Catholic and Orthodox worship -one only needs to view one of their ceremonies to understand that they couldn't be any more riduculous if they tried.

cheeses - another treasured sacriligious moment.

Maybe because it's inherently ridiculous (or a "mystery" according to the Catholic Church). You have a right to believe any ridiculous or mysterious superstitions you wish, but you don't have the right not to have them ridiculed. Besides, it was funny Visit Smiley Central!

Thanks FunkyDerek, now it makes sense.

Sorry Yeru. It is funny. Hell I used to laugh at JW jokes even while I was still one.

Glad you weren't around when I posted my pope thread !

Is there a Kosher wafer for Jews?

I'm having a little trouble with the Theresa Neuman story. If her only source of nourishment was communion wafers, wouldn't she come down with scurvy or rickets?

Possibly. A Protestant taking communion would only get the nutritional value of the wafer itself, whereas in Catholicism, the bread actually becomes the body of Christ, so it would presumably have the same nutritional value as eating human flesh (possibly more because it's not just any human). I don't know how long this would sustain somebody though, especially if their hands are continually bleeding. Visit Smiley Central!
