    Oh my! You poor little thing! <crying emoji> The big bad old Governments are holding your feet to the fire for practices that are harmful to people, particularly children!! HOW DARE THEY WITHOLD PWESSSIOUS MONEY FROM YOUR DRYING UP COFFERS!! It's not YOUR fault that you allow CHILD MOLESTERS, CHILD ABUSERS, WIFE BEATERS and their ilk remain in positions of oversight in the Congregations™, is it now?? And it's not YOUR fault that individual members are likely holding onto their money rather than contributing to your PEDOPHILE DEFENSE FUND, is it??

    </sarcasm>

    I've created a new post listing my reasons as to why the August Study Edition should be no big deal. It will probably be released soon in the next month, with some disappointing information on how to treat disfellowshipped ones, no new light I imagine. Slightly 'modified' light maybe.

    Isn’t the point of discussion that it was delayed at all ?

    Or completely rewritten/sanitized so that no clue remains as to the real reason for the holdup. They are so regularly above-board, eh?

    "Isn’t the point of discussion that it was delayed at all ?"

    I pointed out in another thread that something someone does for the first time may be significant. This is apparently the first time they've delayed a Watchtower release. It's hardly insignificant and unworthy of discussion.

    TonusOH - “…I hope they are not trying to imply that the CSA allegations, lawsuits, and investigations are a sign of the end. That could go very badly for them if they lose any high-profile cases or if more mainstream attention is given to the investigations…”

    From what we’ve heard, they are ready and willing to make that implication, if not directly saying it outright (they are True Believers, after all).

    If the CSA tide keeps rising with no end in sight, and/or their their tax-exemption or state subsidies are revoked in more and more countries, they’ll be facing potential insolvency and shutdown.

    At that point, what have they got to lose?

    This.

    Case in point, Benedict XVI / Cardinal Ratzinger.

    To the best of my knowledge, no sitting Pope had ever retired in the history of the RCC until him…

    …it’s a lifetime appointment, and up till that moment, his predecessors had held the position till they died.

    If anyone out there doesn’t think it was in response to Ratzinger’s exposed complicity in the Church’s child abuse problem, they’re naive.
