Is there anything that you miss, since you don't belong to the JW's anymore? Friendship, family, or maybe just the feeling of belonging to some groupe that had you dreaming of a better world?
What do you miss the most not being a witness anymore?

I miss that sensation of pure narcotic somnolence created by a particularly bad speaker.
Watching their lower lips move as they chant their magic words, hypnotized by the endless monotony and the soothing rhetorical questions....
I guess I miss my friends, but not really. They have made their choice.

I have to admit I enjoyed the weekend-KH projects... but I create that feeling (minus the flirting with out-of-town girls:) with work and volunteering in the community.
So I guess the answer is not a darned thing. The opportunities to speak publicly and answer questions and manage the audio and microphones and such were short-term ego boosts, but they were more bad than good for me.

I'm lucky, I've left nothing behind. So I miss nothing, not a person, thing or moment.

[INSERT SARCASM] I miss the field ministry. I just loved all the interaction with God's children. I miss studying the Watchtower on my Saturday nights. I miss standing out as one of Jehovah's people.

I miss the thought of knowing my destiny.
I miss the hope that I once had, but this is all I miss.
But hope is an important thing to a person; without hope the soul can die
