I have a nine year old daughter and the thought of her getting baptised astounds me.

When I look back, and think about the hall I grew up in, and how strict my parents were, I am very suprised that I was not told to get baptized earlier. I ended up moving out of the house, in fact, out of state, and got baptized because I was getting married, and in order to get married in the hall, we had to be baptized. So I did at almost 19 years of age.
As it turns out, my mother had gone through periods of serious doubt of the organization, so I suspect that is why she never pushed the issue with me to get baptized.

It was my 12th year, but I was still 11 1/2 and it was in 1959. And now I regret that I did it so young. I hadn't even entered puberty yet!
