Actually Philip Johnson the infamous Creationist writer suggested in his "Darwin on Trial" book that his great God did just what was jokingly suggested a few posts back, that is that he was making experimental prototypes when he made apes and primative hominids and only when he liked the look did he give one a soul. Sad real sad.

Amazing
God was looking for an alternative design that would replace us in the event humans failed to meet his quality control standards ... we should also consider Chimps, our other cousins ... they can use tools to make better tools, learn some langauge, follow directions using hi-tech equipment, dress themselves, use the toilet, laugh, pick their nose, and drink beer ... just like men ... and both apes and chimps do not have a sin track record that requires salvation of the species and a bunch of religous codes to keep them in line. - Jim W.
