Ummm I hate to tell you this, but there are already pre-existing laws against child molestation, as such we don't need any extra laws making it illegal to talk about it, you want to know why? Because, would you rather a group like this go underground, or be in the open, where law enforcement can keep an eye on them? Come on people think for once your lives! If you restrict they're right to free speach, which IS different then actually commiting the act itself, what's next? And do you really want these groups out of the publics eye, so they can hide what they're doing?
Another reason I hate the ACLU

You don't find it signifigant that the founder of the ACLU and the guy who controled it and shaped it into the late 50's was a commie? That he wanted to abolish the state...makes a lot of the positions of the ACLU make sense now.

Yeru --
I'm not a communist because it simply doesn't work. I don't think it is the worst thing in the world, though. You have to admit, Karl Marx formulated some very good ideas. Communism, on the surface of it, is a very appealing form of government. Too bad it simply doesn't work.
You often throw around that word -- "commie" -- as if it were somehow evil and disgusting. Why? Do you think it is wrong (like I do) or somehow bad? There is a big difference.

Bad yes, evil no, why do I say that, because when places like Russia were communist, they weren't really, they were more of a dictatorship than communist. It's possible to have a democracy and be communist, it's called socialism.

Trauma,
I agree. Karl Marx would probably have been appalled at some of the tyrannical ways of the Soviets. Essentially, communism need not be anything more than a way to govern a nation's economy.

PS -- I'm for a free and open, unfettered market, btw. Why? Because it works, simple as that.

We are for SOCIALISM, disarmament, and ultimately for abolishing the state itself... We seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class, and the SOLE CONTROL of those who produce wealth. COMMUNISM is the goal." (Source: Trial and Error, by Geo. Grant)
So, are ya'll also for SOLE CONTROL of those who produce wealth? social ownership of all property...etc etc?

The question is, does this statement accurately reflect the views of the ACLU today?

Yeru, is your world, really that black and white? I may not agree with everything the ACLU says, but they have done more good than harm. Just like I don't think all republicans are right wing whacko's, just because a few are.

So where would you draw the line then? Where do we stop, before no one can talk? So your saying you'd like these guys hidden, so no one is monitoring them? Yep that will make it safer for children. Let's sweep them under the carpet, so they can molest children in secret, that's going to help. Use logic man, if they're allowed to spew they're hatred, they're not having secret meetings, where no one knows what's going on. It's much easier to monitor a group that's in the open, then one that isn't. Don't believe me, talk to law enforcement sometime.
