Can't say i love em, but i always treat them kindly, if i can. Being a painter, i sometimes have to paint them. But otherwise, i carry them to a safe place when i'm doing stuff. They are amazing bugs.

OK - I liked all them comments, but I have to reveal why all spiders and other creepy crawlys are out to get me.
When I was 8 years old, I went round our neighbourhood poking a twig through the chain holes in all the posts pushing out the earwigs into a big bucket. Then I started looking at them swarming around and poked one of them. It bit me with it's clippers. I screamed. I called for my mother and no shaking would get this killer off of me.
I was scarred for life.

Remember this little fella I told you about on the other spider thread???
Got stung by one of these last week....there I was lying in bed sleeping minding my own business....when all of the sudden I am rousted from my slumber by a SHARP stinging sensation in the nither regions of my body....I won't say exactly where....but a few inches more and my womenhood might have been compromised! Needless to say I reached down to see what the heck was up....YIKES another sting to my hand and I am out of bed flinging sheets and nighties everywhere....took me a few minutes to finally figure out what had happened...as I sat there throbbing with pain..after the pain it startes to get numb and tingle a bit...I found the varmit on my bed ruffle...I backed toward the bathroom...never taking my eyes off him....wadded up a fist full of toilet paper and nabbed him....I crushed it slightly...not enough to kill it....no sir that would have been to good for it...then I flushed it down the toilet..flushed flushed flushed..to the depths of HELL I hope...cause darn it all that HURT!

uggh yeah I remember him, geesh I'll stick with the earwigs. Glad you got your own back on him, you should done the eminem trick and locked him in the boot of the car and then drove the car over a bridge.

I'm not a guy but I loath spiders too. I guess as a kid I woke up with them in between the sheets with me too often and I remember them crawling up my legs as I would be doing dishes. Give me a millipede or snake anytime.
But this is my spider story. Once my sister and I were making such a fuss about a spider on the kitchen wall that my dad, in his discust with us, picked the spider off the wall.... gave it a little pinch....put it in his coffee....and drank it. I'll never forget that for as long as I live.
