DBYA, no need to apologize. It's good to know that people are finally seeing past the veneer of the Watchtower Society and are able to recognize what this organization is all about. Perhaps there will be fewer victims of this cult in the future as people become aware of what is really going on.

Hello, I would like to change my name if that's possible because I'm obviously not digusted by you all. I'm enlightened by you all Thanks for not being mad at me. My outburst yesterday was a mix of pms with lack of sleep combined with the TV program
Anyways, a bit about myself, I'm a 24 year old woman from Canada, I've never been a JW but even though I was not too fond of having to answer the door to them, I always respected them...I respect people who don't have the same beliefs as I do and I actually thought they were very courageous and devoted to be knocking on people's doors and get rejected like that...but this respect has now changed for the JWs and for the catholic church. I've never been sexually abused but that doesn't prevent me from being completely digusted by it and outraged that pedophiles are being protected in religious communities.
I did meet three people in the last two years, a brother and a sister who were both ex-JWs and had been sexually abused in their childhood and another young woman later on. Even though I thought their stories were horrible, I never imagined this was a common thing and now I see that it is. My question is why are they been protected like this?? Don't they realize what a horrible thing they are doing? I just don't understand...

It seems you have a passion for people & issues, so I hope you stick around, read some more and jump in to the conversations whereever you feel like it. As you have learned, you won't get your head bit off around here (only those who REALLY deserve it get that treatment).

I believe this board is for anyone who wants to discuss about anything jw, whether you are a current jw or not. However, all jehovah's witnesses are told not to engage in the internet forum by their big brothers. So that's why we are mostly ex-jws.
