I guess they were not as boring as the talks and council were. I usually did pretty good on them. One good thing about it.....you were never graded......only reminded of how most don't study or pay attention enough to get a decent grade if we had been graded.

I had totally forgotten about the written reviews until this board. Remember how quiet the Hall was during them? I think I liked them better than the usual blather, but I was just a kid, so it didn't matter much.
I remember most the smell of the paper.

Yeah .....I remember those reviews. I usually just folded mine up and put it in my bookbag never to be seen of again.
Are they still giving those out periodically...

No more written reviews. Now conducted as an oral review, with questions published in the KM in the same manner as previously scheduled. The written review night was always the lowest in attendance, so they had to do something.

BTW, years ago the written review was graded. It was handed in to the School Overseer who graded them and returned them the next week or so. WoW that was a long time ago, more then 30 or 40 years. Course I'm not that old, I just heard about it!!!!!

The first one I did, I wrote "I don't Know" next to nearly every answer. in later years, I passed notes and doodled. the hall did get very quiet, didn't it? it was kinda nice....

I used to like the written review.
One night I was sitting next to my mom in the meeting (A rare occurance) and we had both finished the written review so we were whispering about something, an elder sitting in front of us wedged his glasses on the end of his nose, looked sternly over them at us and then passed us a colouring book to keep us quiet . I was in my late twentys which must have meant my mom was in her late hundreds.
