I must apologise for my childish and silly contribution to this topic. I was only trying to act the clown and not hijack it or ruin it. Sorry if anyone thought I was trying to ruin it on purpose.

I used to write a lot of poetry myself and have read a lot of it so I don't think it's silly.

Sad and forlorn skies of gray

Fill my empty days

Broken dreams are what I dream

Joy and laughter will come again

But when

This urn is broken.

The ashes of burnt love

and spent emotion

seeping through its cracked sides,

dusting my mantle.

And as the haunting imaginings

Of a love gone by

Are caught by melancholy wisps of my mind

I sit in my sun-drenched and lonely room

And dream

Of what could have been As all that has been,

and all that ever went before

is but a fallen shadow

forming echos of another time

resounding in my ears

getting fainter, more forlorn

as a single tear descends

Heartache, heartbreak

Sad and forlorn skies of gray

yet as I watch the ticking clock

the hands inexoriably moving round

the calendar on the wall

with days ticked off

the entropic march of time

subdues my soul
