Disgusted and ashamed to be British

David Blaine has been in his box for two weeks now. During that time it's become a daily event for people to go and throw eggs and other food at the box, people have also fired golf-balls at him and other objects and someone has even tried to cut the cables holding the box from the crane. People have also tried to shine lasers into his eyes and othe 'clever' tricks.

It's disgusting but typical of the yobbish, mindless behavior that is becoming too common in the UK.

I'm ashamed to be British. We have no class.

Did he get any of this treatment doing the vertigo stunt? I doubt it ...

Why is he doing this *stunt*? It seems so pointless....

Same type of thing happens here.....mindless behavior is everywhere.

Actually, Simon, I believe that the ones who do that are in the minority, but get the big press. Be ashamed of them, but don't be ashamed of your heritage. You Brits have a rich heritage and one that even though there are parts a bit shakey(like anyone else's), you should be proud of.

Don't be disgusted with your whole country due to the misconduct of a few morons.

I agree with Dakota. Things are the same here in the states, you know the story it just takes a few idiots to make everyone look bad.

No, I think it is more prevalent than that. There is no respect shown for anyone or anything anymore.

Bus-stops and phone booths smashed up, seats ripped on public transport. No one cares and no one takes any action.

If you think that Brits don't have any class come to North America and you'll see no class at all. Of course, I have heard that Londoners are particularly rude people; however, if you want nice people with no class go to Dublin.

Sounds like things here in North America Simon. It is ashame that we "Humans" act like animals. Animals are far more civilized than we humans have become. It makes one wonder at times if we really are the "higher" species.

Same as I don't agree with American politics... just because the press says one thing or the government etc... does not mean that is the way the people feel.

I have long wondered why some people behave like that. Acts of willful destruction are a total mystery to me.

    Simon:
Come up to the Highlands of Scotland, and take a load off!
We have class and still somehow retain the title "British"

    Elsewhere:I couldn't agree more!
