The Oct. KM contains a four page insert for the Theocratic Ministry School, as it
does every year.
The Announcements instruct publishers, "The insert in this issue of Our Kingdom
Ministry is the 'Theocratic Ministry School Schedule for 2004' and should be kept
for reference throughout 2004".
Is it really necessary to tell people not to throw it out? If so, would it be a good
idea to elaborate, for 'slower Witnesses' not to use it as toilet tissue, pet
rodent bedding - or at least, "don't just toss it in the trash like most of those
magazines you rarely read"?
The cover of the KM is one article composed of 16 questions that summarize
the (y-a-w-n) district assembly. Apparently, taking personal notes and commenting
on them isn't good enough for them anymore. One less tiring chore of thinking
eliminated....
Of course, the rest of the KM is a model of Cognitive-Avoidance. They have
the word-for-word magazine presentations on the back ( oops! sorry! I dropped
my cue card). The ORAL review ( not written anymore due to a secret
passion for the word "oral") is now 15 questions you can doze off during.
And elders' parts now may get a red " * " next to them, which means
"Limit introductory comments to less than a minute and follow with a
question-and-answer discussion". Thank God the Society is finally taking
action to stop the emergence of spontaneity! The Light certainty is getting
brighter. I used to think the Service Meeting was just a modified version
of an Amway meeting but most folks who sell that stuff still have some
humanity left.
So, there you have it. If you've been feeling guilty about skipping the Service
Meeting, this is what you're missing.
