Also, last month's KM had that letter from the Borg guys, only instead of signing "your brothers, WTBS" or whatever they used to say, the closing was "U.S. Branch." There was also supposedly some comment or announcement that this is the "new terminology." What is with that? Anyone know? More legal maneuvering?

OK Here is the full story. The US was the only place in the world that did not have a branch. It now does and has been in operation for about 1 year. At the same time they also formed new corporations. Christian Congregation Of Jehovahs Witnesses, Kingdom Services, and some others. When letters to Elders or Congregations in the US get sent out they ar every rarely from the WTBTS --they are from the US Branch or one of these other legal corporations. So all the branches worldwide now report to come under the headship -- are submissive to those taking the lead -- i.e. The GB -- yes it is a legal thing -- make it even more difficult to get at the assets etc if there was a major court case against them

Yep...that's what it sounds like to me. The GB and the WTBS further insulating themselves from lawsuits and criticism under the cover of corporations.
