Ang, if you like Jonathan Kellerman, then you'd probably like his wife's books also. His wife Faye Kellerman is an excellent author. When either of these two write a book, I have to buy it. Same goes for Patricia Cornwell ( except I didn't buy her book on Jack the Ripper ).

There are many authors that I like personally since, the Greek literature it is the best in the world.

The novel the Last Tempetation by Nikos Kazantzakis it is one of my favoured. He tried to see Jesus from the human point of view.

Also George Orwell and the masterpiece he wrote 1984. It was the novel(although there are some prophetic happenings how it would be the world in the future) that helped me realize that the WT was just like Big Brother and how they manipulate people. It indeed my favored

    Thanks SP, bittersweet

It's a series so I'd start at the beginning: When the Bough Breaks

LOL trust me not to start at the beginning !

Tom Clancy - never read one of his books I didn't get involved in.

Michael Crighton's book Timeline is really good. I like the book for all the quantum ideas - but I'd like to see the movie for the actual time travel (which is explained, it's actually NOT time travel).

Read half the book the first night I opened it.

One of the lawyers here at work recommended this book to me; it's on my list of "to read" books.

I like José Saramago, Tolstoy, Dickens, also Agatha Christie, Jonathan Kellerman (although after a few books I find he gets predictable), P.D. James.

I enjoy humourists such as Stephen Leacock, James Thurber and poets like e.e. cummings, Robert Frost, and Matsuo Basho (haiku master).

I like Ayn Rand a lot. Favorite: Dean Koontz

She is one of my all time favorites. It seems to me that Dean Koontz is a winner; do you have a book recommendation?

I have a few Ayn Rand books, but I haven't had the time to sit down and read them. I have 3 other books to finish first.

Atlas Shrugged is my favorite of all her books. It's long but worth the read. I had a hard time getting thru the first 50 pages-after that I couldn't put the darn thing down! Didn't want it to end!Very powerful book. It really made me take a long hard look at my life. It's been hard to find a good read since I finished that book.

A very good friend of mine is considered one of the top (if not the top) world experts on Ayn Rand and objectivism.

When can I meet her/him?? Please schedule a meeting Who is the friend? I think to be an expert in objectivism life would be very fulfilling.

The Fountainhead is another good one.

    Aztec,

LOL yes, strange that your mom would name you after Ayn Rand-being a dub and all. It is a nice name anyway:)

I loved "Me Talk Pretty One Day". I couldn't stop laughing when I read the chapter about trying to explain Easter to a bunch of people from differant countries.
I may just have to get this one, I could use a good laugh. Never thought of trying to explain Easter... a bunny that comes in the night to hide eggs and candyLOL

    Kate Atkinson, Margaret Atwood.

I also recently read The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold and The Life of Pi by Yann Martel, both excellent.

A topic after my own heart. I am a total book freak, but I only like mysteries, legal suspense, and a little drama. In no order, here are my favorite authors:

    Kay Hooper

    Lisa Gardner

    Iris Johansen

Catherine Coulter (not her romances, though)

Sue Grafton (although her last one was horrible)

Leila Kelly (she only has 3, and hasn't written in a while. She has cancer)

Janet Evanovich (funnier than all get out)

    Harlan Coben

    Tess Gerritson (may have misspelled)

I read for relaxation, so I hardly ever read the "deep stuff". These authors are all exciting and fun. I used to read Patricia Cornwell, but she got a little too gory for me. Fayer and Jonathan Kellerman are also good. I used to read Sidney Sheldon, but I think I've outgrown him.

    Enjoy!
