I started a spreadsheet a while back to count the meetings I've missed: last update was 7,212

I left in Dec 2001. I was fed up of them. Constantly torn between my work and having to make those dreary meetings. Then when the dateline program aired i was finished.

I'm not that far behind you, but I haven't missed any of them! LOL!
When I used to go to the exJW support group in Northern California, we had a fellow come around from time to time who left in the mid-1950s. Made me feel like a "newbie".

LOL!!! ... Nope! ... me neither!!! I've been disfellowshipped since June of 1999, after being born and raised into the cult. And I haven't missed attending those mind-numbing high control meetings! The years go by fast, now that I have a life! I've worked hard to delete those years of files from my memory ... delete! delete! delete! Erase those old movies from my mind and live happily and in full control of my own faculties. Just like taping a new movie over an old yucky one!!! Never will I give the power of decision-making for my life over to some stupid, uncaring selfish elders ... ever again!!! Not waiting for some elusive, ever-fleeting future date and time to start living my life ...I can't believe I used to live like that!!!
I'm now filling my mind and heart with useful stuff. And I'm living in the now! Using my intuition! Thinking on my feet! Every day!
