Hate is a strong word. There are several things I dislike about my job but in the main I love my job. I carry a pager 24x7 but I only have to be primary support for the week 1 in every 8 weeks. I hate being paged at 2 O' clock in the morning. It's almost as bad as being woken by a baby needing attention.

mm -- I would like to work under Vivamus also -- my boss is a control freak but honest enough to admit it -- when he is at is control freak worst - it reminds me of the GB of the WTBTS --that is the bit I do not like

What do I hate about my job? I'm sitting behind a desk WRITING about how to do my job in combat rather than actually DOING my job in combat. I used to hate guys like me...now I are one. I WANT TO HAVE MUDDY BOOTS again!

I hate the fact that I was fired 2 weeks ago....my husband and I had given notice that we were moving to Texas...I asked to transfer to a sister company and was told yes. He asked to telecommute and was told no.....well....he ended up getting a job with a company that his company hated...his company is the parent company where I worked. The owner of his company called me up on a friday afternoon after I left work and tokd me that he was going to hunt my husband down...and that he had personally liked me, but I was part of the conspiracy so I had to go. He did this without consulting with my boss, who was the VP of my co, or the sister company that I was supposed to work at.

The officially verdict was I was let go due to conflict of business interest, even though my hubby is not working for a competitor. Very nasty business...I have decided that when we get down there I am just going to do the research and work to start my own company..

but I must say...I don't miss the disorganization, and nepotism that I saw there....but I do miss a few of the peeps I worked with...and my coffee mug...it is missing... =(

    Ignorant people.

It just amazes me how many ignorant people there are out there. And, most of those cranky, ignorant people are of the older generation. What is it with old people? Do they think that just because they have 40 years on you that they have the right to talk disrespectfully to you? I come in contact with alot of people at work, on the phone and in person, and let me tell you.....the old people really take the cake!!! I just hope that when my turn comes to join the senior citizen population that I treat others with a little more respect than they do to me.

Well, that is my little rant for the day.

And do you feel that by doing your job you make a difference? I work in a public service, and if I do my job right nobody else will notice a thing because things are working properly. The only time you get noticed is when things go wrong.

Gadget, take another holiday. If people only notice you when things go wrong well, they suck. I wish I had something better to say but I'm a bit sleepy and puffy right now....

Yeru, I think it's obvious that you wanna get back out there. We can tell!

SFJ, I'm right there with ya. Being unemployed sucks!

Eyebrow, if they are gonna be that stupid you're better off without them. Good luck on your move!

I hate the fact that your job can suddenly disappear. "We're re-evaluating the jobs here and we have determined that your position is no longer necessary and have thereby eliminated your position." That's the speech I heard at 4:30 p.m. on 12 Sept 03.

Ain't life grand? It was that speech that helped me come to the conclusion that I will never again let my fate be in the hands of others. I will work for myself and I will make it happen for me.
