I have a really good job. I am lucky to have a job. This is a state job, with retirement benefits and insurance. What do I hate about it? Only the administrators, because they are forever trying to reinvent the wheel.

Gadget, take another holiday.
Was going to go away this week, but going next month now instead. It'll be the first time I've flown since 99! Yeru, I know what you mean. In my job I follow a rota for 6 weeks working in the gate office, then 2 weeks in the thick of it on nightshift. I spend most of my time arranging XODs so I spend as much time as possible working nights. Now I just need to get a promotion so I can stay doing that all the time.

I repair circuit boards. I hate when stuff comes in for repair that has been sitting in a hog barn for ten years. Do you know how bad it smells when you apply a soldering iron to that? Ech.
Then there's the stuff that's been dropped in a big puddle of hog shit. Dare I touch an enclosure with dried hog shit smeared all over it?

Working holidays about kills me. I gave up enough of them as a witness and they are precious to me.
I believe working with the public is a matter of learning to be amused by stupidity rather than annoyed by it... for instance the old men who think they don't have to follow the rules at the craps table because a young girl is telling them. The battle of wills is amusing to me, and I always win because they either bend to my will or play elsewhere ;)

I agree woman bosses are a bit more meanBut I find that having a woman boss makes the chances of a promotion much more promising.
I pretty much love everything about my job-if I could change one thing it would have to be the commute.

Why are females in authority such bitches? I am sure not all are like that. There is a wonderful woman at my job whom I respect immensely. Several years ago she gave a speech on a woman's worst enemy in the workplace, she says they are other women! I have had good female bosses, but they are in the minority. I say most women can be horrid!

I hate the fact that the computer industry likes to save money by shipping jobs off to India, and therefore makes the people getting laid off (i.e. ME!!) train the indians that are going to take over our jobs.
YAY! This will be a fun experience.
