So many say, "the paragraph says" or "the magazine says." Very rarely, does anyone say "The Bible says."

    Many just rearrange the paragraph.

Maybe 1 or 2 out of the whole meeting inject any information that shows thinking ability.

    Such as

    Telling a personal experience

Connecting it with information from a previous WT study or something discussed in the book study that week

Bringing in a cross-reference scripture (just reading a scripture that isn't quoted in the paragraph and making application).

    It's sad.

Perry: OOh, OOh, OOh. I know, I know, I know......

Conductor: Yes brother Perry, would you like to make an expression?

    Perry:

    "Jehovah"

Conductor: Very good! Would someone else like to expand on this view? Yes, sister blondie.

Blondie: Where do the dead people go that the society has killed due to their changing policies on blood, organ transplants, suicides from shunning and stance on ID cards in Malawi?

Conductor: (clearing throat) Well, they go uhhh, that is they are... Well, that's just silly. Hell, anybody can answer that question. Who would like to answer sister blondies' question?

Perry: OOh, OOh, OOh. I know, I know, I know......

the congregation I went to, some of the elders encouraged it, and some did not. My study conductor always cringed when she heard anyone over the age of 13 read right from the paragraphs....to me it depended on the person...there are always a few dim bulbs in a crowd that cannot express themselves very well.

What I would like to hear...is write the sunday talk without a society driven outline or script....how about just a topic and let the elder run with it.

Well that strikes me as strange.

I always thought the WTS wanted you to stick to the wording of the paragraph as closely as possible, to prevent the brother and sisters from interjecting "spurious" comments.

Now watch, the comments are going to start surpassing "the 30 second" rule, as the r&f bumble themselves through the material, and they will then "counsel" the brothers to "stick to the material !

Up and Down like a toilet seat they are.
