Did You Think "Jehovah" Was Responsible For Everything Good In Your Life?

There was a time yes (but when ? in fact instinctively NEVER)

    • because lots of things that seems to be good/natural/sincere /... to me was not for God
    • because lots of things that seems to be bad/not natural/not sincere / ... was good for God

Finally that's probably why I just couldn't stuck to the JW's (and I wouldn't be able with any christian religion anymore) I can't just pray in knowing what he does to us ... I mean we are already on our knees (what about the third world !!!) A GOD WHO CAN'T "DEAL" WITH SATAN and HIMSELF (without putting the blame on everybody but him) HAVE NO "COJONES" ... SORRY
I've got a pic in my leaving room where I'm looking above. My mother told me one day, that on this pic I look like I'm asking Jehowah, what the hell he is doing ?

no, when i was still attached to the 'truth', it was always to make my parents happy. until evenutally, i decided it was a load of shite, and that i needed to think for myself.

The most extreme case of this Jehovah does it all that I have seen was a sister who was my best friend. She was a bit looney. Her toilet was stopped up so she prayed to Jehovah. She called me on the phone to tell me the great news. Jehovah had answered her prayer. Her toilet flushed! No joke guys, honest truth.

My life on the other hand was a disaster. I didn't have much good happen to me that I could attribute to God. I would hear people claim that they prayed for a car and surprise, surprise they got a car. I just couldn't equate that with the knowledge that faithful brothers in third world countries had no shoes and struggled to have one meal a day. How come the owner of all the gold in all the mountains wouldn't give those faithful servants enough to eat?

Loris----I comprehend your experiences. My mother has prayed for many junk cars and Jehovah "blessed" her with them. Why should God provide for one person yet not another?

Interesting question Minimus.... and one that I have contemplated many times. I have made sense of it this way for me:

I attribute good things that happen to me to God because it is a very useful thought construct for me. It is a tool I use for a psychological benefit. And hell, it could very well be true. Naturally, this view begs the second question you asked about the bad things coming from Satan. While I'm not too sure about that, mostly I just figure God was busy at the time and let some bad stuff slip up on me accidentally.

I never appreciated how busy God could be until I saw "Bruce Almighty"

Good things happen to us because of God. Bad things come from the Devil. If both things happen, good and bad, it's because God allows the Devil to do it.

Yes Minimus, I believed completely the WTS line that Jehovah was all good and I was bad and Satan was badder. I believed that the FDS would make sure to educate me and help me to become a better person. I was a dub. I had little tiny nigglings about stuff like homosexuals being bad.. I'd grown up around gay men and women. I never realized they were gay until I was a teenager so I always just accepted relatives and my Mom's friends for who they were, human beings. But I always was able to push those nagging doubts aside until I started college and several new friends were gay and I thought OMG what kind of belief is this homophobic thing?
