Id like to join everybody in welcoming you to the board. Feel free to talk and comment and even ask questions.

Like Think4 said, join us in chat and have some fun sometime, its great for a little light association.

My wife and I left the WTS hold on us about 6 weeks ago and we have both found this board invaluable.

    Welcome!

About the guilt - it is the JW's most powerful tool. It will pass.

About Fred and Y/K: Maybe you should read their posts too for a good laugh!

Gee, I feel more welcome here than in my congregation. I have the Christian Freedom book by Ray Franz but have not started it yet.

I know the guilt will go away but I guess after almost 25 years in the truth (from when I was 14), you get brainwashed and it stays with you. Oh well, hubby and I are taking it one day at a time.

What funny is, we never miss the meetings and the 'friends'. We never felt so free to do our own thing and projects we have neglected around the house and yard. Our eyes are also opened to the fact that the worldlings around us are actually better than the loving brotherhood in the organization. We now view our workmates, neighbors etc., without prejudice and without judgement. It felt so great. I can now see the good in everyone.

ozziepost, yes my 'very righteous friends' on another popular witness online board visit this board and yes we talk about what you guys say here, in private. So I cannot reveal my identity. I'm pretty sure after this post, each one of us will be suspicious of another. I know that a regular poster here knows my identity, so please exert every effort not to write my name.

Anyway, thanks again for the warm welcome. I'll visit the chatroom soon.

    Hello CC:

A warm welcome to you. You will find a wealth of friendship, encouragement and knowledge here as I have. I also started 'lurking' here for awhile before I had the courage to make my first post.

I too am in the same position of not going to meetings but can't reveal my identity because of family still "blinded". If I was one of those JWs you mentioned that come here to read about us, I'd be quite concerned of not only being found out, but of my own spirituality. How can anyone be proud of ignoring the GB's warnings to stay away from these sites and still consider themselve a true JW?

However, if any JW lurkers are here because they too have hidden doubts, and want some answers, I say "WELCOME" to you all. Here is where you'll find out the real facts and things the WTS has kept hidden for so long.

My world of JW'dum came to an end when I had serious doubts about the "spirit-guidance" of the GB when they kept flip-flopping back and forth on important issues. Then when I read C of C book, I was in shock for awhile. I'm now reading the "In Search of Christian Freedom" and have "Apocalypse Delayed" to read next.

I have so much I want to re-think and find what seems right to me.

As for the holidays?....like everyone says...the guilt passes when you see the foolishness in all we've been taught as "the word of God". I received my first "Mother's Day" cards and wishes this year, and what a warm and wonderful feeling it was from such a small gesture. To me it was a HUGE gesture of love.

Anyway...welcome again and enjoy. Looking forward to more from you.

    To Englishman:

A calico cat is a beautifully coloured domestic cat. Ususally they are white with blotches of deep orange and black and usually are all female. I'd love to have one but my own cat would be too jealous.

    Gee, Calico!
I had already "christened" you "CC" in my mind before even reading waiting's post and now I see ozzie and some others have already beaten me to it!

Just wanted to chime in to add my welcome, too!
