    Sword:

You can play the role of victim if you like but remember this 'wonderful Society' was willing to pay $54,000 to Vicki to shut her up.

This doesn't sound like the act of an innocent group.

Thats because they aren't innocent, and this was proved in court. If vicki had lost her case, swordofjah would have a point about costs. But they were shown to be wrong andd their claiming costs is purely an attempt to put other people off from following Vicki's example.

    Sword of Jah,

It is you and the Watchtower Society that needs to get real and begin to follow the Bible that you purport to believe. Would Jesus try to recompense his losses if he were sued?

Matt. 5:41 "If someone wishes to go to law with you to get your tunic, let him have your cloak as well."

    Sword of Jah writes:

What a dumb comment! She sued the Society so love in your mind would be for the brothers in Bethel to say "honey, it was ok to file suit against us so we will pay for all your costs, we love you, please keep suing us", and then you ask what would Jesus do? O.k., let's see. If a person filed a suit against Jesus, then Jesus would pay for their court cases? Get real!

Actually, if the Society followed Jesus' example in the first place, Vicki would never have had to go to court at all. Why don't you explain to all of us how Jesus feels about child molesters? Didn't he say something about "anyone who stumbles one of these little ones would be better off to have a millstone tied around their neck and being tossed into the sea"??

    Love, Scully

    Scully:

Good point! I also don't think Jesus would have asked Larry Curly and Moe (untrained men) to handle a forced meeting between a victim of abuse and the abuser.

Even the person who was "just a secretary" (per John Burns) in legal when testifying in Vicki's trial knew of the potential psychological damage of such meetings.

And that person isn't even God's appointed channel on earth and they could figure it out, why hasn't the Watchtower figured it out yet?

"love your enemies and pray for those that persecute you"

"if a man impress for a mile, give him two"

As many of us have experienced - in particular from child sexual abuse cases within the organization,

the Watchtower has no sense of shame. Such behavior is collectively sociopathic.

These are the 'humans' who expelled Dunlap for vastly exaggerated apostasy - so that he was in his seventies

and broke. These are the theocratic reptiles who disfellowshipped Joe Anderson after he complained about

the injustice done to his wife. These are the cold blooded cultists who sacrificed Witnesses in Malawi

to slaughter and torture - while giving Witnesses in Mexico a "free ride".

And never lose sight of this:

These are the men who send willing dupes to their graves because of the blood transfusion issue,

an issue they know is a fraud - from years of doctrinal exposure.

They are smiling monsters and wolves in sheeps' clothing.

    1. I think it was the judge's decision to force Vicki to pay the Society's legal fee, so why hit on the Society?

    2. I think everyone's entitled to his/her own opinion.

    Dorky:

In the court decision handed down, Her Honor said that if the parties could not resolve costs, they should bring the issue back to her.

In the Society's submission (a 1 1/2" volume) regarding costs they demanded full compensation of costs from the inception of the matter. The judge only allowed costs incurred after 2001.

The Society had the opportunity to do the right thing. They didn't. They went for the jugular instead.

    Hi Sword:

Obviously you do not understand the details of the case. The Society wants Vicki to pay THEIR legal fees for defending themselves against the lawsuit filed against them by Vicki. To my knowledge, Vicki never asked the Society to pay her legal fees. The Society wants Vicki to pay THEIR legal fees despite the fact that the judge ruled that the JW elders had screwed up the way they handled her abuse case. In addition, the Society has said publicly, if I am not mistaken, that their intent is not to revictimize those who have been molested by going after them in this way. The fact that they petitioned the court to have the judge force Vicki to pay THEIR legal fees just demonstrates how unchristian, uncaring, and unloving your religious leaders are.
