I know some people that are "sue-crazy". If they can sue a store or insurance company over anything, they will. What would justify suing over a matter, to you?
Would You Ever Sue Someone or a Company???

I slipped on ice in a plaza parking lot some years back and injured my knee. The management company was negligent in cleaning up the ice. I had surgery and on physio for 3 months. It took 2 years, but we eventually settled out of court for a $50K.

My MIL tried sueing a shopping mall after she fell and broke her leg. She was 70 and was wearing shoes with no grip. She lost. When she was 65 she tried sueing her local couincil because she fell of her bike due to sand on the concrete footpath. She lost then too. The insurance business in Aus is totally screwed because stupid claims like that have actually won. Try getting public liability for a sporting event, charity event etc. Nobody (in Australia) can afford it now.
I ride motorcycles. If I post to a newsgroup that I'm riding next Saturday, and someone comes along and bins it...they can sue me. I drive a 4WD, if I ask a mate to come out driving with me, and he damages his car, he can sue me.
So many lawyers, so little concrete. Thank you America.
The answer is NO! Not unless there was proven intent to harm. Then I say, hang the bastards.

Would you sue if a person or company meant no intent to cause harm yet proved to be negligent???

Personally I feel kind of guilty about this topic. I see a lady spill coffee on herself and sue McDonnalds. I see a robber hurt himself while breaking into a house and sue the homeowner for not having a safe property. I see some idiot walk into a light pole and sue the owner of the parking lot. And I feel disgusted. I just wanna slap these people around a bit and tell 'em to take responsibility for their own actions.
But then, honest with myself as I am, I can't deny that if I had the opportunity to make some big bucks off of a corporation, even though the responsibility is totally mine for whatever lame act I commited, I would probably go for the paycheck.
So I'm no better than those schmucks I hear about on the radio. Would someone teach me how to lie to myself?

I've sued a company I used to work for for the 2 months wages they stilled owed me when I finished. Still waiting for the money..... But I agree about the way the compensation culture is going, people should accept responsibility for their actions and not just try and find somebody to sue for it.
