Hope everyone near to the region affected in California is ok. It's shocking to hear of the destruction. These affected areas are some of the places I visited when I came on a tour of the US. Malibu, Santa Barbera, LA, Santa Monica, Hollywood and so on.

I'm fine, I live further south in Long Beach...no canyons or wilderness ridges. Aude Sapere checked in, she is further north and okay. Another friend I met from here early on, ran the LA meetup group when I joined years ago, fought embers Tuesday along with the OCFD, and saved their house. We three had just been to the theater Sunday night...how quickly things can change, especially with a wind event and a dry wilderness area.

Watching Biden and DeSantis side by side atter the Hurricanes in Florida and watching Trump refusing even visit and blaming Newsome for everything, really show the dark path the nation is headed down. Even his little asshole son had to make it about helping Ukraine.

Lots of DEI hires - how many fire chiefs can be lesbian women, really?
A push to get rid of white male firefighters ... who were they replaced with?
Fire services massively defunded.
Hydrants and reservoirs emptied.
Brush not cleared due to environmentalism.
Lot os left-wing nut jobs starting fires.
How is this anything todo with Trump? Unless you didn't hear, he's not the president ... Biden is (still). And California is the model of 100% democrat control.
One way or another, when the dems are in charge, lots of things burn to the ground.

You are right and the sad conclusion many angry people came to is that something is wrong with the leadership in the state.
Of course, some fools in denial will try to make it about DT - meanwhile Biden is still president.🙄
This was all an unfortunate ‘perfect storm’ of bad choices. What I wonder is because so many wealthy famous people lost their homes maybe they will be more vocal in their outcries.
