Glenn Miller is really fed up. He's suffering with his feet, you see. He has corns, bunions, you name it his feet have got it. It's so bad that his clarinet playing is becoming affected.
One day, his Dad suggests that he goes to a really good shoe-maker to get some comfortable shoes made to fit that he will be able to wear despite his painful corns and bunions.
When the shoes are made, Glenn is absolutely delighted. They are so lovely and comfortable! In fact Glenn wears them all the time he's awake.
But dark clouds are on the horizon.
One morning he awakens to find that his pet cat has chewed his new shoes to pieces. They're totally ruined. Glenn is aghast and then becomes very angry. Furious now, he tries to catch the cat with the intention of hurling it out of the window. Of course the cat realises it's in trouble and flees for it's life.
Well, his Dad doesn't like to see Glenn so upset, so he decides to catch the offending animal to present to his son to do with as he will. Eventually he catches the cat, holds it by the scruff of the neck, and walks into his son's room and says to him:
