Alot of "Can Nots" in being a Jw! Now I think of all I can do now since I'm not one anymore.

There were several points in the lists that were not the case around here( UK) at least not in my experience and I am sure that some parents were stricter than others .

Britain has just had it’s November 5th firework and bonfire night. As a kid I really wanted to have a part in that but as dubs , we didn’t… I can recall sitting in the back bedroom watching the neighbours kids having fun with fireworks .. Even now, I still feel I’ld like to do it or go to a big organised display…..

That's quite a comprehensive list you have there Breezy one.

I think it's be easier to flip it around for a shorter list.

A list of things Jobots ARE allowed to do.

    1. Give money and assets to the Governing Body (Pee be upon them)

    2. Shun Christ at the 'memorial(tm)'

    3. Waste time with Jobot 'busy work' and meetings(tm)

    4. Look down haughtily on everyone apart from the Elders upward in the pecking order.

    5. Believe everything the WBT$ says even if it's against all logic and evidence.

Summary. Not to enjoy anything else ever again.

I like Punky’s list! But Seabreeze’s is spot on, too. A teacher wrote a note in my report card in first grade, recommending that I join the Girl Scouts. She said it would help me to socialize and be part of the other girls. My parents, of course, mocked her suggestion and ignored it. 😢

Sea Breeze: 45. Not allowed to participate in most extracirricular activities at school

Or work, either, as I learned when I played a season with a softball team in a corporate league. I got a 'friendly' talking-to about how I was in good shape to become an MS and it just wouldn't look good if I was spending leisure time with worldly people. I dutifully informed my co-workers that I would no longer be on the team, became an MS, and coincidentally began to fade.

Was "Cannot obtain higher education" mention?

    Also, how about -

    • Cannot refuse to indoctrinate your child or give them the freedom to decided whether or not they want to join the cult.
    • Cannot be in a romantic relationship unless your intention is marriage (Men - this means you have to be able to financially support a family before dating. Women - this means you have to be of legal age to marry...that's it?!?)

They don't want you listening to music, aside Kingdumb maladies (yes, they call it a conscience matter and then hound you every time you find a song you like). This is especially true with the best music, such as Led Zeppelin or Michael Jackson.

They also don't want you watching R rated movies. True, they call PG-13 "conscience matters" but you might be stumbling someone if you watch anything except whatever the washtowel itself puts out.

Yet, most of the washtowel dramas would themselves be rated at least R for making people afraid of looking outside the cancer for the truth.

I think some countries don't have police officers who wear a firearm.
