Diogenesister: A Homecoming game, especially a "homecoming" football game, is a game that is played at the "home school." High schools will usually play an "away game", in which they play the game away from their home school. When they return to the "home school"" and play the game there, it is called a "homecoming" game. I hope that helps. I never had a problem with attending a homecoming game when I was in high school. No JW child would be allowed to go to a homecoming game especialy if both parents were active JW's where I grew up in Houston Texas.
The catch-all rule was, "bad association spoils useful habits".

Is that it? I think I've covered most of the bases here.
Don't get me wrong - I think marriage is a noble, worth-while institution that we should keep.
It's just that the way the WTS goes about making petty rules and policing people 24-7 in all aspects of their lives. It's insane ...
* there is a little flexibility on some of these points. JW married couples can do oral and anal, so long as they don't talk about it to any JW, ever.

Probably only relevant to the UK, you cannot buy Premium Bonds.
In a previous congregation there was quite a dispute over this and the elders had someone write to HQ for clarification. The answer came back that Premium Bonds are not for "Christians" because, although the capital cannot be lost you are gambling with the interest on the bonds.
For an organisation that has probably lost millions of donated funds in poor investments that sounds like double standards to me.

I agree that these things are ridiculous and over the line.. But, I have to say: most of the problem is because Witnesses cannot keep their mouths shut, in my opinion.
They blab their business to everybody (not wise) and go up to elders (who are nobody) and ask their opinion and/or ‘confess’ to them about their bedroom practices and what goes on between a husband and wife!!! This is absurd and just goes to show that being in this religion makes intelligent people take leave of their senses and breaks down the boundaries that normal people should have. They have no backbone anymore and have truly checked their brains at the door. Sorry to have to say this.
Most of the things on the lists mentioned come under the ‘None of your goddamned Business’ category.. Again, I’m Glad I’m not there anymore to have to fend off this sickening nonsense as well as other garbage.
