Both I and the house survived, and I think most of the virgins who showed up are still intact (I'm only assumming there were virgins present...God only knows these days when virgins are defined as ugly third graders.

Not to worry, Yeru, you'll survive the teens, many of the rest of us did

Sounds like you're doing a pretty good job. Just remember how you were and double it

I know what you mean Yeru,,,,,,,,,oh yeah,,,,,,,,,,,my son is almost 17,,,,,,,,,,and we just moved back to our old hood,,,,,,,,where at any given time there are at least 10 or more extra kids HIS age , at our house. Mostly I run them outside and they hang out there , in a swing , chairs and listen to their stereos. They walk around or find the other kids who live close who are cruising the neighborhoods, so I swear almost everyday there are that many here.

Plus my younger two , have their little friends terrorizing the neighborhood too. Mine are the ring leaders ... can't even begin to imagine what their teen years will be.

My son has had a few times of teenage rebellion and going over the limit with us on certain things, but we have been so open and honest about making the best choices and how it will effect his life. He is playing football again this year and is an honor student, beta club, class president and also got voted class favorite. I am very proud of his accomplishments and I do understand how hard it is to be 17,,,,,,almost grown , almost a man, but not quiet ya know?

Here is a pic of him at his cousins 18th birthday party..........they were chaperoned but I kind of think the auntie , got a little tipsy herself.........lol.

That is my neice ,,,,,,,,,on her 18th birthday , she and Jake were both raised JW's and are only 17 months apart,,,,,,,so they are like bro and sis, more than cousins....She is like a daughter to me and is doing well with her life , out of the borg.

It makes me so happy to see our kids enjoying a day just for them, their birthdays.

Great thread Yeru,,,,,,makes me so happy that our kids will have the happy times without feeling guilty like we did. hugggggggggggssss Dede

Good for you Yeru! Our youngest just is now 18 and out of the house. Until last year we lived in the country and our house was THE place to go because the band could play there. All of them respected the house rules: no booze, no drugs and smoke outside. I don't think I ever had a problem with any of them. Most kids are smart enough not to tick off the parent that is willing to let them into his house and cut them a little slack while they're there.

Surely that wasn't meant to comfort me...I DO remember how I was...and I'm scared as hell the kids will be like that too. Remember, by the time I was 13 I had a criminal past. YIKES!
