I think it's sad when an obvious traumatized person is put through this treatment.

    What "treatment" is that?

I don't know what happened. I do know what looks like happened. It looks like a tangle web, woven from the fibers of a crazy religous cult and by a person who's life is crazy quilted together with fabric from those same fibers. .

What girl watches a clock while being assaulted? Or the perfect color of a truck with the sun beating down on it? It is very possible this girl was assaulted, so I for one will also withhold judgement till all the facts are in.

On the flip side, many girls have been known to say they were raped just after having sex, for fear of parents reprucussions if they become pregnant. Especially a young JW pioneer (missionary) who already is obviously dealing with all the stress of being the perfect JW.

This poor girl is in a heap of trouble.

Whether lying or not she has been tested and proven to have lost her virginity somewhere. By WT standards unlawful Sex has occured , so now it will be up to her to prove

1 It was not concentual (rape) and

    2 that she struggled appropriately

Even if the local JC wants to believe her the WT standards make it hard for them to overlook the evidence of fornication and the lack of evidence supporting her rape claim.

Maybe a local Apostate should give her a call and offer a little support.

Based on her beliefs as a Jehovah's Witness, Satterfield says lying is considered a willful act against God. She says truth is one of the foundations of her ministry, her life.

Unless it's to protect Jehovah's organization.

Wonder what happens if and when she is determined to be pregnant from said rape? Bet she forgot that small fact. Certainly he did not attack her wearing a condom.

Perhaps she knows she will end up pregnant from engaging in "fornication" with someone in her missionary work (NO PUN INTENDED) or "worldly man" and KNEW this was a way to cover HER tracks. I'm of course, purely speculating here.

Re: rape kits...the lab can actually determine how long ago the 'intercourse' took place?

SF: I believe that when you go to the hospital for rape, they will give you the "morning after" pill. So pregnancy should not be an issue. I never heard anything about JW's being against this...but it is a new thing, and it wouldn't surprise me if they were

"That will teach her for gettin' herself raped"*rolls eyes*

Yes, I wouldn't even want to guess on this one. She could very well be telling the truth.

That's right, Shamus. Let the proper authorities with the proper experience examine the evidence.

I'm wondering what happened to her car when they took her to the hospital....did she really have a flat tire? she would have still had a flat when they came to get her, because she said she was attacked before she had a chance to change it. Would a person be so calculating as to making their tire flat, then cut themselves up just to have a cover story? It's certainly possible.Seeing her fathers reaction to the whole thing, I can see how a jw daughter wouldn't want to incur the wrath of him or the local elders.Making up a story about a rape might seem better in her mind than dealing with the fact that she had consesual premarital sex. Still, it might be true, and if so, how sad that she has to go through all this. I would like to have all the facts of the case before coming to a conclusion. I guess we'll have to wait and see what a jury decides.
