Re cost of Cartage to docks etc - is this not handled by the society so has no "real cost" as if outside contractors were used?

Part of rationale of WT is growth / expansion / progress - downsizing can be made to look like upsizing if sold to the faithful as such - cost not an issue to the GB - appealing for massive funds feeds the growth myth and blinds the faithful to the actual fact that WT is wasting more money - the publishers money.

    1) They are a NON-PROFIT CORPORATION. That means if money comes in, they must SPEND IT!!! There is a business plan to buy so many presses, ever so often, as LONG AS THE MONEY COMES IN!!! Those presses don't really wear out that fast, though newer ones have newer features.

    Balance these:

    Rising transportation costs

    (-dollars)

    Move

    (-dollars)

(move reduces transportation costs and saves dollars after the move is paid for, so converts to +dollars in the long run) ,

    donations coming in

(+dollars, even if less than it used to be) ,

    downsizing reduces "overhead"

(less -dollars, so again, converts to +dollars in the long run) ,

    real estate sales

    (definite +dollars) .

Bottom line: ++dollars over so many years. More positive offsets than losses, so... therefore:

    2) They are doing what they know how to do: buy printing presses!!!

If donations are happening, it does not matter if the magazines are viewed or trashed. Twist the arms to "contribute" and pile them up in the publishers garages, it doesn't matter.

NOTICE: IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT THE DEMAND FOR THE MAGAZINES IS!!! This is where NON-PROPHET becomes NON-PROFIT.

IRONY: the newer presses will make MORE MAGAZINES with LESS PEOPLE for LESS DEMAND!!!

That was another thing that put me off with the WT. They would preach for 2 and 3 days at the District Conventions to not be "materialistic", and live a simple life because the end is so very near. Then on Sunday afternoon brag about all the money they were spending branch expansions. As far as why they would be moving now must be to save on costs.

    Amen, WIlliam. My thoughts exactly.

Maybe 9-11 scared them shitless, and they dont really think they are 'invincible' if New York City would be teh first to go in "Harmageddon"

For an organization that expects extreme persecution in the time of the end they sure know how to start big pojects that defy their own logic of we better prepare to go underground .
