Sorry for checking in so late after my OP. Yes, I was referring to Liverpool too and the number was counted from people turning up saying they were disfellowshipped or inactive, and were given lapel badges for security reasons.
Over 300 DFed apparently went to a northern U.K R.C!

After 9/11.
Kingdom Hall parking lots were full for a few weeks.
Then everything went back to normal.

someone rocks up at assembly--says i'm d/f---and gets a badge. yep--sounds very secure to me.

I haven't worn a badge for years, including this one and even with all the bag checks, tags and so called security no one mentioned it.
I don't believe they even would have 300 lapel badges on hand to give to randoms turning up. I don't buy it at all even if the brothers at Liverpool were more vigilant than elsewhere given the Manchester arena tragedy.

The badges given out were the same as all the other J.W's wore. This year, because of the Manchester concert bomb and other events, security at R.C's was tightened up so everyone had to wear a lapel badge to get in. James Mixon -

I now for a fact that if you went to one venue without a badge and said you are either here from an invite, here from another region but haven't got a badge, inactive, DF'd, forgot your badge or whatever you got given a badge unless your backpack was emitting smoke and smelling of gelignite.
You get escorted to an attendants office and you tell them the guys at the gate told you to come and get a badge.
They write "Visitor" on it and ask you to write your name, congo if applicable and phone number on their "check sheet" - in the UK.

konceptual99: I don't buy it at all
Why?.....
The Fall Guy: I have been informed by two trusted JW sources that 2 sisters at different conventions - one in England and one in Scotland - were refused entry to the arenas because they didn't have lapel badges!

Slidin Fast: You probably won't get in. Security is tight, they will inspect your badge. Since the Manchester bomb you will have to register to get in. I kinda don't blame them but it could be awkward for you. Good luck!

pale.emperor: You're right. Security is stepped up (which is good actually). Although it's real security, not yellow jacket boy that is "reaching out". They've got plastic boxes with what looks like those electronic body search things you see in the airport.

I don't believe pale.emperor even actually got into the Arena itself like he said he was gonna too.... -

Didn't happen in Brighton to me, my family and a number of others I know who did not have badges. Not even asked about it.
How long would it take to process 300 "visitors" in the manner suggested?
Just out of interest, does anyone know the attendance at Liverpool?
